dr. Mariët van Buuren
Mariët van Buuren is assistant professor in Clinical Developmental Psychology, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and Principal Investigator of the SocialSelves Lab. Mariët’s research is focused on the development of self-concept and social cognition in adolescence and how this is related to social functioning and mental health. In her research, she uses functional MRI during experimental paradigms and resting-state, hormone assessment, social network measures, self-report questionnaires and ecological momentary assessment. Next to these activities, Mariët is program director of the Research Master Clinical and Developmental Psychopathology and course director of two master courses. Moreover, she is an enthusiastic supervisor of PhD-students (Maartje Overhaus and Zwanet Young), and of master students.
